A recent upgrade in Citywide Banks’ copiers and printers resulted in a considerable stockpile of IT equipment that was not needed but still in working condition. Instead of tossing the equipment, the bank reached out to its employees about area nonprofits that could use the equipment. The response was immediate. The bank was able to donate more than 25 commercial grade, fully operational printers to nearly 20 very thankful nonprofits. The Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance edged out Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado for the most online votes in the latest Citywide Banks Charity Hand-Up Contest. During a 14-day contest that aimed to raise awareness for seven Colorado nonprofits nominated by Citywide Banks employees, the competition gnerated over 150,000 pageviews on Facebook alone. The contest was also promoted through the bank’s social media and at branches in Denver and Boulder. As the winner, the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance will receive a $5,000 donation from Citywide Banks.
