Citywide Banks, a locally owned business bank, announced it has selected Blake Peterson to lead the bank’s growth initiatives in Boulder and surrounding communities. Peterson, a deeply rooted banking veteran in Boulder, brings three decades of financial and banking experience to Citywide Banks, including commercial lending leadership positions with Wells Fargo, and US Bank. Peterson will lead the Boulder banker team, oversee branch operations, and direct the family owned bank’s growth plan in the Boulder market.

Peterson was born and raised in Boulder. His family roots in Boulder go back three generations. He has been an activist for moving the Boulder community forward throughout his career. Currently, Peterson participates as a board member for Impact on Education, a nonprofit foundation for Boulder Valley Schools. Past volunteering has included roles with Naturally Boulder, Leadership Boulder, Junior Achievement, Boulder Chamber of Commerce, Boulder Junior Soccer, CHASA, and the National Ski Patrol.
Peterson was most recently vice president and principal relationship manager with Wells Fargo Boulder. He was a top loan producer in Boulder County and recently received the Engagement and Teamwork Award for his work in mentoring new bankers. Prior to this position, Peterson held commercial lending roles at US Bank in Denver, Vectra Bank in Boulder, and a separate period at Wells Fargo in Denver.
For nearly a decade, Peterson worked with Key Equipment Finance (formerly known as Leasetec Corporation) located in Superior, Colorado as vice president and head of its North American credit division.
Peterson began his career with United Bank of Denver (now part of Wells Fargo), followed by positions at Affiliated Denver National Bank (now part of Chase), United Bank of Boulder, the Sturm Corporation, Colorado National Bankshares (now part of US Bancorp), and then Wells Fargo Denver before moving to Key Equipment Finance.
Peterson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Philosophy from the College of William and Mary. He then attended the University of Colorado in Boulder where he earned his M.B.A. with a Finance emphasis.
